"Victory Stadium, Roanoke, Virginia, as seen from atop Mill Mountain. With a seating capacity of 25,000, which can be increased to 29,000 with the use of bleachers, is where the Thanksgiving Day Classic Football Game is held each year between (VMI) Virginia Military Institute and (VPI) Virginia Polytechnical Institute. The municipal stadium also serves for many outstanding events each year, such as industrial exhibits, Harvest Festival, football games, etc. Also seen in the picture, the National Guard Armory, Marine and Navy Reserve Centers and the Virginian Railroad Yards."
