This is a guide to the Virginia Y. Lee Celebrity Memorabilia Collection. Items in the collection were collected by Gainsboro Branch of Roanoke Public Libraries librarian Virginia Y. Lee. The collection relates to celebrities Paul Laurence Dunbar, W. C. Handy and Langston Hughes and consists of letters, sheet music, photographs and images, pamphlets, programs, a poem, writings and various other ephemera. Many of the items in the collection were donated and signed by the celebrities they relate to. The collection dates from 1892 to the 1963, with the majority of items date between 1940 and 1963.
