Description
An account of the resource
Herman Richard Clark was a photographer with his own studio, Clark Studios, that focused on commercial and portrait photography. Ranging from the late 1940's to the early 1970's, he primarily captured prominent local African American socialites, organizations, schools, churches, and social activities that reflected the vibrancy of the community. Most of the photographs feature Clark Studio's official stamp on the back. However, the majority of those in his images have not been identified due to the lack of identifying information accompanied with the collection.
