SR152 Municipal Field
The land on which Municipal Field was located had originally been designed for use as an elementary school site. Further study, however, prompted Salem’s leaders to appreciate its use more for athletics. Thus, in the spring of 1932, Municipal Field was born. Professional baseball debuted there on May 20, 1939, when the Salem Wolves took the field against Lynchburg.
