Description

Image is an aerial view of Roanoke looking toward South Roanoke. The Star on Mill Mountain is the main focal point of the background. Other featured buildings assumedly include St. Anthony's Catholic Church in the bottom left corner, the Hotel Roanoke in black and white on the right edge of the image, the First Street Bridge goes over the moving train on the left of the image, the old Booker T. Washington Junior High School in red on the left edge of the image, the Wells Fargo building in orange near the middle of the image, and the Roanoke High Education Center in tan as the highest point in the background before the Star.

Evidence of another started drawing on the back side of the image. Story in The Times and Life on Henry Street (2012), p. 2. Displayed in the Harrison Museum of African American Culture Exhibit 2023-2024.
