"Negibors Groc, The store was really located on Gainsboro Road just a couple of blocks from Henry Street, directly across the street from Negibors Store. Was the the Huntington Branch YMCA It was opprated by a man named Mr. Lee, and a fellow people called Red fox. Thats if you knew him personally. Otherwise we called him Mr Mitchell. He was a real nice man. The reason some people called him Red fox is because he was a light skind man with flameing red Hair. At that time in life a membership to the YMCA for a year was 50c for anyone under 18. and my Dad only paid one dollar a year for his membership, the funny looking building in the very middle of this drawing belong to Archie Jones, he was a Black contractor and he also built Hamlar and Curtis funeral home, located on Morman Rd NW. This whole communiety is gone also along with Johnson and Reed Relitors on Gilmer ave and Gainsboro Rd". Drawing of Gainsboro road. On the left side is store with a sign reading "Negibors Groc".
