Subject

David Ramey.

Description

Drawing of a large group of people in a green space. The two central figures are a boy and a man, who are holding hands. Everyone is dressed in robes, tunics, and sandals. The boy is pointing at something to the left, possibly to a pedestal overflowing with fruit or to something outside the page. The man has a blue sash and a halo above his head. His other arm is around the shoulders of another boy. There is an angel behind this second boy, holding his hand. A young girl holds onto the angel as well. These central figures are walking down a brick path. In the background are many ornate and large buildings in different architectural styles. Many people can be seen in the background. There are palm threes and plants from warmer climates. Two red birds are sitting on branches in the top left corner. The words "In my father's house" are written in the bottom right corner. Signed by artist and dated 2012.

Story in Gainsboro Road and Beyond. Displayed in the Taubman Museum of Art Exhibit 2023-2024.
