Subject

Gainsboro; David Ramey.

Description

Drawing of three men standing in the road. There are rows of houses behind them, most of which are nearly identical. Two of the men are embracing, one of which has a bottle in his back pocket. The third man is standing close to them, facing forward and pointing towards the other two men, possibly pointing at the bottle. A small dog is walking on the road towards the men as well. On the far left side is a brick building with trashcans and boxes outside the front door. There are signs on the building that say "7up", and "Coak Cola". A man is leaning against a telephone pole just outside this building. On the far right side, the back end of a car can be seen. There is a man standing next to it with his arm outstretched. The words "7th Ave NE 1952", are written on the bottom right corner. Signed by artist and dated 2010.

Story in Gainsboro Going into North East. Displayed in the Taubman Museum of Art Exhibit 2023-2024. Back of drawing has "Faithful friends people of 7th ave NE" written. "Upper end of 7th ave" written on back as well.
