Subject

Roanoke; Gainsboro; Orange Avenue; Williamson Road; David Ramey.

Description

Drawing of a fork in the road, with buildings lining most sides of the roads. The road closest to the viewer is Orange Avenue and has multiple businesses with signs. There is a tall sign with lights on top of it on the far left that read "Willett Truck Stop". The other signs, all in the same area, read "Willette Dinner" and "Willette". Behind these businesses is a large green space, in which some headstones can be seen. There are cars on the road and people outside, two of which are doing yard work behind a fence. They are on the far right side, where there is a large brick building with part of a balcony and porch visible. In the foreground there is a man holding a suitcase, with another bag resting by his feet. His thumb is outstretched as he stands next to the road. There are two road signs on the same side of the road as this man. The one on the left reads "US 460 W" and the one in the center reads "Bristol TN 110, 460 West Wytheville 94". Signed by artist and dated 1991.
