Subject

Description

Drawing of a blue car on the road, as seen from the front. Three people are next to the car, standing in the road. One man in striped pants is leaning against the car. Behind him a man in red has one arm raised and the other resting on the roof of the car. The third man, wearing a green hat and pants, also has one arm raised. There are buildings on both sides of them. On the right, a sign that reads "Dumas Hot-" can be seen. Behind the Dumas, in the background, a tall building with a flag on top can be seen, likely the Norfolk and Western General Office building (now the Roanoke Higher Education Center). There are people on either side of the road walking. The silhouette of a plane in the sky can be seen. "No The YARD 57" is written on the bottom left corner. "David Wyane Leroy 1957" is written on the bottom right corner, as well as "2008".

Story in Gainsboro Roand and Beyond, p. 68. Displayed in the Taubman Museum of Art Exhibit 2023-2024. "7" written on back.
