Subject

Roanoke; Gainsboro; Henry Street; Norfolk and Western Railways; David Ramey.

Description

Drawing of the Henry Street Bridge, looking towards downtown Roanoke. Two cars and a truck are driving over the bridge, in both directions. There are people on the left side using the sidewalk and also crossing the bridge. On the left side, towards the foreground, a two signs can be seen on the same building that both read "Shoe Repair". A person can be seen exiting the door to this building. There is a small green area on the right side next to the bridge, with two road signs that have no visible writing. Trains are crossing beneath the bridge, and two of them have "NW" written on multiple of their train cars. Downtown Roanoke is in the background, past the bridge, as there are many tall, densely packed buildings together. Signed by artist and dated 2001.

Story in Gainsboro Going into North East. Displayed in the Taubman Museum of Art Exhibit 2023-2024. "1" written on top right back corner.
