Description

Drawing of Henry Street. On the left, a man is walking a dog on the sidewalk. There is an alleyway between two buildings, where two people, one holding a bag, are walking down. The building on the right of the alleyway has "Shoe Shine" written in the window. Two people are standing outside next to the window. Next to this business is another that has "Day N-" written on the side, the rest of the sign is illegible, though it is possibly Day and Night Taxi Company. On the far end is another business, this time with two signs that read "Nicks" outside. On the end of visible street on the right is a tall building that has "Ebony" on the side. In the background a tall building with two flags on the top can be seen, likely the Norfolk and Western Railways General Office (today the Roanoke Higher Education Center). "Henry Street Shoe Shine Parlor" is written on the bottom right corner. Signed by artist and dated 2003.

Story in Gainsboro Road Going into North East. Displayed in the Roanoke Higher Education Center 2023-2024. "3" written on back top right corner.
