Description
This story is about the two women who lived in the Mansion on Patton Avenue. Mrs. Reed and Mrs. Burrell were two wealthy widows of the Gainsboro community, and they were well-known for their lovely car, to which the author refers to as a "Rolls Royce". The author also talks about Burrell Memorial Hospital and the cruel reality of seeking healthcare as a Black person in Roanoke during the twentieth century. The author also talks about what happened to the Mansion after both of the women passed away, and how charitable the women were.
