Construction of Wray Barn with Hofauger House in background. Group of people with backs to camera on right side of picture. Date on the back of photograph is 04 December 1992. Writing on back says “by Rupert Cutler” with typed message taped on back that reads, “Exploring History: Curley Ennis, Pole and Trafidlo, Dobyns and Merritt and the North Cross Half Notes provide the music while preservationists, a construction crew and members of the Roanoke Jaycees set to work in an old-fashioned barn-raising at Explore on Saturday (see Going Somewhere, Page 1). Also included in this fund-raiser: craft sales and demonstrations, Christmas tree sales, bonfire, hay rides, historic re-en-actments and Brunswick stew dinner. 345-1295.”
