Description
Strobel's Airship at the Roanoke Fair. The airship was designed by Charles J. Strobel, after the general idea of the Zeppelin, and took a championship at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. The airship was filled with hydrogen and had a gas engine that ran propellers that pulled--rather than pushed--the aircraft. The was a steering rudder at the rear.
