Description

A view of the reception hall inside Roanoke Sanitarium. Roanoke Sanitarium was located at 1906 Salem Avenue SW. It was opened by Dr. Walter Slicer in 1911 to treat "nervous and mild mental cases" as well as alcohol and drug addiction. The sanitarium closed in 1913.
