SR122 Salem High School

Description

What is now known as the Academy Street School served Salem’s students for many years. The building on the right was constructed in 1890 with an addition (left) coming in 1895. The original portion served the lower grades and the addition became the high school. Other additions came in 1901 and 1908. When first opened, it was known officially as Public School No. 1.
