Description

Streetscape of Gainsboro Road and Patton Avenue. On the right, a man stands facing the William A. Hunton Branch YMCA. In the lower right corner, there is a Patton Ave. street sign next to a fire hydrant. A man in a striped shirt crosses the street behind a yellow truck with the back open. Behind the YMCA, the Johnson and Reed Real Estate sign says "Johnson Reed". Across the street on the left, Neighbor's Grocery has a Coca Cola advertisement on the side, next to it, the yellow building with "Clarence" on it. In the bottom left, the Claytor Memorial Clinic is depicted with it's name across the top. Next to it, there is a circular sign that says "ESSO". Above, the Hotel Roanoke is in front of the mountains. Artist wrote "Gainsboro" in bottom right corner.

Story in Gainsboro Going into North East. Displayed in the Taubman Museum of Art Exhibit 2023-2024.
